Program note

In this, my third set of musical caricatures, I have again selected artists, writers, theater people, and composers as my subjects. As with the earlier sets, the caricaturization in these compositions focuses on each artist’s work, rather than his or her personality or appearance. More information is given for each movement below.

This brings the number of individual movements in the first three sets to twenty-seven. Might one pull movements from each of the three sets, forming unique caricature suites? Definitely. This has been done quite successfully by several organizations. I encourage it.
